Privacy Policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and what we never do with it — in plain English.

Who runs this site. Westshore Weekly is the local directory and Thursday email for the Westshore — Westlake, Avon, North Olmsted, and Rocky River, Ohio — and a publication of Innvio. Questions about privacy: email [email protected], or write to Westshore Weekly, 30239 Center Ridge Rd, Westlake, OH 44145.

Business listing information

The directory is compiled from public sources, including OpenStreetMap contributors and public local sources. A listing is business information — a business's name, address, phone number, website, hours, and category — published so neighbors can find local businesses. Listing a business is free, and no business pays to be listed or to be ordered in the directory.

When you claim a listing

If you claim a listing, we collect the name, business name, email address, and phone number you submit, together with the listing you claimed. We use that information to verify that you represent the business, to complete verification, and to communicate with you about your claim and your listing. A claim never signs you up for anything else.

The Weekly newsletter

If you subscribe to the Weekly, your email address is held by Beehiiv, the service that sends the newsletter, and is used to send you the Weekly. Every issue carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops the emails.

Westshore Partner payments

Partner subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Your card payment goes to Stripe directly: we never see, receive, or store your full card number. We keep the records a subscription requires — your business, contact details, plan, and payment status — so we can deliver what you bought and support your account.

Site analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It measures the site without advertising cookies and without tracking you across other websites.

Our sponsor, stated plainly

Westshore Weekly is presented by a sponsor, Auris. Here is exactly how sponsorship touches your information: claiming a listing never enrols you in sponsor marketing. As part of the claim process you may see one clearly labeled sponsor message, and after your claim you may receive one clearly labeled sponsor message by email. Any further sponsor follow-up happens only if you choose to engage with that offer. Your claim, your verification, and your ballot eligibility are never affected by whether you engage with a sponsor offer, and claimants are never added to sponsor mailing lists.

What we never do

  • We do not sell personal information.
  • We do not rent or share your contact details with third parties for their own marketing.
  • We do not add claimants to sponsor mailing lists.

We use a small set of service providers to run Westshore Weekly — Beehiiv (newsletter), Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (hosting and analytics), and HighLevel (claim and Partner records). They handle information only to provide those services.

Correcting or removing information

Business owners: if your listing is wrong or out of date, claim the listing or email [email protected] and we will correct it. You can also ask us to remove your listing information from the directory. For personal information you submitted (for example, with a claim), you can ask what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email us and we will handle it.

Cookies

This site does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Embedded services we use, such as the newsletter signup form, may set cookies needed for those services to work.

Children

Westshore Weekly is a business directory and local publication for adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
